On May 5th, the Uptown Rotary Ocmulgee Adventure Race (U-ROAR!) is excited to celebrate its 9th year as Middle Georgia’s premiere Adventure Race. We have modified the format this year by dropping the canoe segment and focusing exclusively on mountain biking and orienteering. Contestants will navigate through varied terrain seeking to find as many remote checkpoints as possible, challenging themselves mentally and physically as they plot their strategies. The race will start at the Hitchiti Ranger Station, ½ mile southeast of Jarrell Plantation in Juliette, GA (just outside of Macon). Beginning at 9 a.m. and only an hour’s drive from Atlanta, the 4 hour format allows many teams to make the round-trip with no additional overnight expense. The race is organized by the Uptown Macon Rotary Club and 100% of the net proceeds go to local charities. The primary beneficiary for the 2012 race is Macon Volunteer Clinic.

- Check-in begins at 6:45 a.m.
- Pre-race meeting at 8:15 a.m.
- Race starts at 9:00 a.m.
- Hard finish at 2:00 p.m ( 5 hours)
Cost
- $45 per person for the 4 hour race. Trailblazer members receive a $5 discount

Format
U-ROAR is open to teams of up to 4 participants; co-ed, all-male, and all-female teams. Only co-ed, 3-person teams competing in the 4 hour race will be eligible for prize money.
