Race Info

Due to unforeseen circumstances, combined with the dangerously high record temperatures of late, U-ROAR! 2010 will be rescheduled for a later date. We are looking at a couple of dates in October and will post the new date as soon as it is confirmed. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that you will plan to join us in October!

What
On August 7th, the Uptown Rotary Ocmulgee Adventure Race (U-ROAR!) is excited to celebrate its 7th year as Middle Georgia’s premiere Adventure Race. Featuring an exciting mix of paddling, mountain biking and hiking/trekking, contestants will navigate through varied terrain seeking to find as many remote checkpoints as possible. Once again, U-ROAR! will feature both a 4-hour sprint race and an 8-hour elite course to challenge teams mentally and physically as they plot their strategies and test their endurance.

The race will start at the Amerson Water Treatment Plant and Javors Lucas Lake just outside Macon, Georgia, approximately 75 miles Southeast of Atlanta, just off I-75. The race is organized by the Uptown Macon Rotary Club and 100% of the proceeds go to local charities. The Mentor’s Project is the primary beneficiary this year. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and Uptown Rotary’s Financial Literacy Program.
